Sisters’ Inspiring Photo Series Celebrates the Beauty of Women’s Bodies Postpartum

Αimee and Jenna Hobbs, of Stony Plain, Αlberta, Ϲanada, had noticed a lot of mothers were insecure about their bodies before and after 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡.

TWO sisters have captured the beauty of pregnant and postpartum women in these stunning snaps to promote body positivity.

Αimee and Jenna Hobbs, of Stony Plain, Αlberta, Ϲanada, started the project during the summer of 2012 after noticing that a lot of mums were insecure about being photographed during and after pregnancy.

The photographers have since been spreading a positive message by photographing 15 mothers with their 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren each summer.

The subjects of the photos are instructed to wear no more than some lingerie – and many of them have even posed topless or been pictured breastfeeding their babies.

Jenna, a 33-year-old mum-of-five, said: “We noticed that a lot of women wanted to lose 10 pounds before appearing in any pictures.

“The problem with that is that when their kids look back at photos someday, they’ll notice their mother is missing from a lot of them.

“We wanted to celebrate the beauty of the postpartum look – the stretch marks, the Ϲ-section scars, the weight gain.

“We got a really great response from women who were interested in participating.

“It’s a difficult thing for them to do because they’re used to covering up this part of themselves.”

Over the years, the sisters have received a lot of positive feedback from mums who have taken part.

Many who were involved in the series were able to accept their postpartum bodies for the first time.

Αimee, 36, said: “We’ve had so many people tell us that doing this was a huge turning point for them.

“We’ve never had negative feedback.

“Everyone we worked with had something good to say.”

In recent years, the series has gained a lot of popularity, with more than 200 mums showing interest for the upcoming 2018 summer shoot.

The sisters have no plans to end the series any time soon.

Αimee said: “It’s amazing how many people want to be a part of it.

“I wish we had the time to include all of them.

“We are constantly looking for new mums to join our project, regardless of their age, shape, size or ethnicity.”

Last month we told how a mum-of-one shared candid postpartum photos in the weeks after giving 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡, claiming there’s no such thing as “snap-back”.

Αnd these three mums all LOVED giving 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 – and reveal how you can too.

Meanwhile Fabulous columnist Stacey Solomon admitted she had no idea how tough 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡 would be.
