Cody Marie Mitchell was a loving mother who lost her life unexpectedly.
His tragic accident has left the world in tears and has become an important reminder to use all possible protection for babies in the car. Cody was traveling with his twin girls.
Cody was traveling almost 250 km between Mildura and Menindee, in Australia.
Cody Marie came to visit her cousins, the trip was very pleasant for her and she loved sharing a few days with her family while everyone celebrated the mischief of the twins. Karleasha, her cousin, was shocked to receive the news.
Cody was barely 29 years old when he lost his life.
No one really imagined that this would be the last time they would see Cody. It is not yet known for sure if the car had any faults but somehow, her mother lost control of the steering wheel and went off the road.
“The last thing we said to him was: ‘Have a good trip.’ I can’t believe something so horrible has happened,” Karleasha said.
The twins were in the back seat and very well secured. Despite the turns the car took, they managed to survive safe and sound. Unfortunately, her mother’s fate was very different. Cody was ejected from the car and was killed instantly.
“None of this makes sense. It is very painful. I think the babies survived because there was an angel watching over them,” a relative of Cody wrote.
Despite the fact that the car rolled many times, the babies were not injured. For many it is a miracle. For others it was Cody Marie’s last great act of love by constantly watching over the well-being of her daughters.
The twins had just completed their first year of life when the accident took place.
The devastated family is trying to come to terms with what happened. Losing her mother, I feel only babies, will have a strong impact on the twins. Her family and friends want to uphold her memory and do not stop sharing stories about the wonderful mother she was.
“It’s a tragedy. All he did was take care of her babies and he loved spending the whole day with them. It’s not fair that the girls lost their mother,” Karleasha said.
At the moment, it seems that Cody’s mother will be in charge of taking care of the babies. We join this family in these painful moments. We hope that the beautiful twins will listen to the story of how loving her mother was and always carry her in her heart.
