Meet the latest addition to the family, a newborn aptly nicknamed “Werewolf,” who was born covered in hair from head to toe. Just 22 days old, this baby inherits a rare genetic condition known as Lycanthropic Syndrome from the Gepe family lineage.

Savita Sambhaji Raut, a 26-year-old mother, expressed her concerns about her daughter’s future after inheriting this medical condition, yet she wholeheartedly accepts her fate. Unsure if her body hair will eventually fall out, Savita fears the potential stigma and challenges her daughter might face in adulthood. However, regardless of her appearance, she vows to unconditionally love her child, as she is a part of her essence and blood.

Speaking from her home in Madhavnagar, central India, she shared, “I’m glad she’s alive, but it’s quite distressing.”

Savita added, “I worry about her future, but God chose us for this path.”

“As her mother, I must embrace and move forward.”

Her condition is known as hirsutism, which currently has no cure. The only solution is to accept reality and coexist with it. Her unnamed daughter is one of the few hundred people worldwide born with Lycanthropic Syndrome.

Interestingly, the family and the child’s father, Mr. Milind, remain unaffected by these events. In fact, Mr. Milind expresses his delight in having a daughter. He emphasized, “The only thing that matters to me right now is that she’s my daughter, no matter her appearance.”

This extensive hirsutism, affecting her entire body, distinguishes itself from localized hirsutism that is limited to specific areas. Hirsutism can be inherited, present at birth, or acquired later in life. Excessive hair growth is observed across all epidermal regions, except for the pubic, facial, and axillary hair, which is influenced by androgens.

Currently, her life remains vibrant, and her family adores her wholeheartedly. Hopefully, as time progresses, the situation will improve, and a solution will emerge, ensuring her confidence as she faces adulthood.
