Justice the Pit Bull is more than just a typical dog, as there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. Even though he doesn’t fit the traditional mold of a canine, he has a unique beauty all his own. Unfortunately, Justice had a tough start in life, through no fault of his own. He was mistreated and left behind, but thankfully he found his way to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter where he experienced genuine love and kindness for the first time. Despite his rough past, Justice is thriving and relishing every moment of his newfound life. However, he still carries the scars of his abuse, and wishes that his abusers could be brought to justice for their cruel actions.

In 2018, a miraculous discovery was made on the streets of Indiana – a dog named Justice. He had endured horrific chemical burns that seemed to have been inflicted intentionally, and had only managed to survive for a short period on his own. Fortunately, a group quickly stepped in to provide Justice with the necessary medical attention. The pup required extensive bandaging at first, but gradually his skin began to heal and some of his fur started to grow back. While he may not look exactly as he did before the incident, Justice is still greatly loved by the staff at the shelter, as well as others who have come to know him.

According to veterinarian Jessica Lynch, Justice was initially very unhappy. However, he has made significant progress since then and now has a more distinct personality. He is now a content and lively little dog.

After receiving a year’s worth of medical treatment and training, Justice was ready to be adopted. Several people from different states and countries expressed interest in adopting him. Unfortunately, due to the veterinarian team’s desire to be close in case Justice needed further care, the shelter only accepted applications from residents within a 100-mile radius.

Justice has settled into his new home smoothly and seamlessly, just as everyone expected. His adoptive parents have been keeping the shelter’s social media followers updated on his progress, as he has gained quite a significant fan base during his time there. Despite the hardships that Justice has faced, he is now relishing in the joys of life, something his loving family has made apparent to all.

Training Justice proved to be a challenging task due to his troubled past. He often showed stubbornness and was reluctant to take instructions. To tackle this issue, he underwent rigorous training under the guidance of an excellent dog trainer named Lexi, which lasted for more than a year. During this time, Justice developed a fondness for Lexi, which resulted in him becoming more cooperative. According to Lexi, Justice has only one more session left with her.
Each passing day, Justice feels more comfortable in his new environment. He has become more affectionate than before, and he relishes the belly rubs from his loving owners. Though it may seem like a small gesture, rolling over is a sign of vulnerability for most dogs. By allowing someone to rub his belly, Justice demonstrates genuine trust towards humans. He is confident that he will not be hurt anymore while being around them.

Efforts were made by the shelter to identify the individuals responsible for the cruel abuse of Justice right from the beginning. The reward for the offender’s conviction initially started at $5,000 but has now increased to a total of $20,000. Although there are still pending cases, anonymous tips have been of great help to the shelter in getting closer to finding the culprits. One of Justice’s previous owners, who went by the name “Roscoe,” was recently located by the shelter, but it is unclear whether the person’s claim of giving Justice away before the incident is true or not. Unfortunately, there seems to be insufficient evidence to hold anyone accountable for this despicable act in both cases.
