This is the story of a couple who went through a very difficult pregnancy and decided to hire the photographer Kirstie Perez for the day of delivery.

Kirstie took beautiful photos during the baby’s delivery, including one of the father crying at the sight of his newborn son.

However, when asked about the image in question, the man said that he was not crying due to the birth of the baby.

He had felt powerless watching the woman vomit compulsively for more than 285 days. He witnessed how she lost 30 kg during the pregnancy, as she was unable to feed herself due to the conditions of Hyperemesis Gravidica and Pre-eclampsia.

The mother was hospitalized four times during her pregnancy due to dehydration. The man always ate in the street in front of the door, since any smell could bother his wife.

After months of being her partner’s only support, she was finally able to endure the delivery as the two of them fell in love with their baby.

When the photographer showed him the image in which he appeared to be crying when he saw his son, he responded emotionally: “That’s not what I was crying about; It’s because it’s the first time I’ve seen him smile in 10 months.”

The man continues:

“Gentlemen, please understand how bad empathy can be. Dedicated to all mothers who have experienced traumatic pregnancies and are able to smile despite everything… Thank you so much for sacrificing yourself and bringing such a precious child into the world. This is not easy to achieve!”
