Alice Hohenhaus was diagnosed with uveitis when she was only four years old. Her ss went into remission after ttt, where she remained for eight long years. Unfortunately, Alice’s cancer returned after nine years of remission and she was forced to undergo a full body tt. Adding to Alice’s apprehension and fear, doctors informed her that the s tssu caused by her t made it extremely unlikely that she would conceive in the future.
14 years later, to her surprise, Alice was able to conceive; However, she miscarried at 15 weeks of gestation. Doctors informed her that she would never be able to carry a full-term child due to her illness. And when it seemed that Alice would never have children, her family rushed to her aid.
Alice, 46-year-old housewife Teresa Hohenhaus offered to be her daughter’s surrogate mother. “Alice was ready for it, so I thought, why not?” Teresa declared.
Initially, Alice was hesitant to accept the offer because she questioned Teresa’s ability to have a child at her age. However, after analyzing the options, they determined it would be beneficial to accept.
“Alice almost miscarried twice during her pregnancy, so I decided to take her position.
Teresa is a mother of four children, so she has the experience necessary to carry a child.
Fortunately, Teresa conceived almost immediately.
“Before we knew for sure, I told Alice I was pregnant because I felt so bad. The following week we found out that the test was positive. Every doctor visit and every exam was extraordinary. We were inseparable, even shedding tears. “She brought us together more,” said Teresa.
Despite the unusual circumstances, the birth occurred as planned.
Teresa referred to the future baby as her own grandson throughout the pregnancy. Finally, on June 2, a baby boy named Parker was born.
“I must admit that it was the most meaningful experience of my life. I was extremely anxious to know how Alice would handle the child, given how challenging it was for me to care for him. Teresa commented: “But we both endured it and I will treasure and remember this moment until the day you die.”
In February, Alice sought out Australian photographer Selena Rollason to talk about her unusual family history.
Selena commented, “The story was so captivating I couldn’t believe it was true.” During a telephone conversation with Alice, I was completely fascinated; it was an incredible experience. Being a mother affected me deeply.”
“It was a tremendous honor to witness such a miraculous event. I cried a couple of times during childbirth, but I can’t adequately convey the atmosphere. Everything was electrified with feelings of absolute relief and euphoria.”
